Pedal for Prostate

The Mission

A bike ride from Bristol to Newquay was the brainchild of Greg Miner and Steve Storey. When they invited Radio 1 Smiley Miley (aka Tony Miles) to join in, he nominated the BUI Prostate Cancer Care & Research Appeal as the nominated charity.

The team of local businessmen set off from Clifton Suspension Bridge at 8.00am on Wednesday, 22 April, and arrived at Watergate Bay three and a half days later.

Smiley Miley's Mileage Game

The Smiley Miley mileage game played during Radio One’s roadshow heydays was resurrected to help raise money for prostate cancer research.

Smiley Miley, better known as Tony Miles, invited people to guess how many miles the team of 10 rode in a Pedal for Prostate from Bristol to Watergate Bay in Cornwall.

Tony, who survived prostate cancer five years ago, used to ask the Radio One audience to guess how many miles he’d covered between roadshow locations.
