The players, will tee off at 6.00pm on Father’s Day, 21 June, and play through the night using torches. They expect to play more than six rounds before sinking the final putt 24 hours later and club members are being asked to guess how many pars the players will record between them.
The marathon is the idea of former club captain, Mike Bostic, who’s managed to persuade the club professional, Mike Smedley, and his two assistants, Dave Bristow and Nat Payne, to join him. Completing the line up will be club manager Mark Readman and member Jerry Thomas. Mike Bostic’s son, Ian, will act as spotter for the duration. |
