Our focus is research and innovation into urinary incontinence and developing new products and treatment protocols to improve continence care. Our partners come from industry, patient/carer groups, universities, NHS, government organisations and charities.

The BioMed Centre is a unique research centre housed within the BUI that offers clinical, scientific and support for older and disabled people who suffer from severe urinary dysfunction.
Facilities include a purpose built facility to treat people with long-term indwelling catheters and conduct clinical trials. A modern microbiology research laboratory for test new devices and materials and facilitating a programme of research. Excellent training facilities to educate and promote best clinical practices.
The buildings and facilities have been paid for by generous charitable donations. Our research and innovation programmes are supported by grants from charities and government bodies. We are dependent on charitable donations for much of our day-to-day running costs.
