Over a hundred daredevils partcipated in the first ever zip slide over Bristol City's home ground, Ashton Gate stadium, raising over £1,000 for the Bristol Prostate Cancer Care Appeal.

A wire rope was fixed between the Dolman and Williams stands, partcipants were strapped into a harnass, suspended from the wire, and launched! Enjoying the ride some thrill seekers reached speeds of up to 30mph between the two stands and a few people took the opportunity of having a second go.

Fans of Thatchers Cider and The Wurzels have helped raise valuable funds for the Bristol Urological Institute.

By donating five pence from every bottle of Thatchers special edition Wurzel Me Cider sold over the last year, Thatchers has been able to present the BUI Bristol Prostate Cancer Care Appeal with a cheque for £2,000.

Wurzel Me Cider is a special edition cider produced by the Somerset cider maker as the Wurzels’ first official cider. The Wurzels’ Tommy Banner and Pete Budd wanted the BUI Bristol Prostate Cancer Care Appeal to benefit following Tommy’s successful treatment for cancer two years ago.

“I’ve nothing but praise for the BUI,” says Tommy. “Before I was diagnosed with prostate cancer I knew absolutely nothing about the condition. So I’m very keen to support the BUI, and help raise awareness of its work.”
